Reiki

Reiki is a gentile healing and wellness practice that reduces stress and brings about a relaxed state of being. The Japanese word Reiki translates to “universal life force”; the energy found in all living things. Reiki activates the natural healing processes of the body and promotes balance and well-being in body, mind and spirit. Reiki can be used as complementary modality with conventional medical or psychological care.

Reiki energy is not limited by time and space, and can travel distances, allowing one to benefit from its healing energies remotely.

At this point in time all sessions are remote.

What happens during a Reiki session?

At the start, we’ll discuss the issue(s) that brought you to the session, so that we both hold the space for the work that will be taking place. A Reiki session will be conducted in a quiet room where the client will be lying down on a massage table or sitting in a chair. A general session would include placing hands on or just above various positions on the body. A session may also focus on one or two areas of concern, injury, pain or discomfort. Reiki is based on the needs of the individual at the time to facilitate physical, emotional and spiritual healing and the session is guided by Reiki energy itself.

Reiki energy inspires one to let go of all tension, anxiety, and other lower vibrational energy, encouraging an experience of deep relaxation, inner peace, increased vitality and a sense of personal empowerment. By the end of the session you’ll sense that you are creating a space of restoring peace for your mind, body and soul.

For Remote Sessions:

Reiki is a very flexible healing modality that permits the work to take place anywhere. It has been shown to be very effective when shared remotely. Usui Reiki training teaches techniques especially for this kind of work. A Japanese spiritual saying states  “The origin of all is pure consciousness.” Pure consciousness exists at the deepest level of being and at this level there is no time and space. Distance is no barrier. Distance healing can be sent to people in close proximity,  in other parts of the country or the world.

When working remotely you’ll be in a quiet, comfortable space in your remote location during the time the Reiki work is done. I will then call on Reiki to establish a connection between us, and the work will continue as if we are in the same location. At the end of the session I will share any insights I received.
